Your Voice Tone: A Small Detail With Big Influence

I just might be a collector of voices and voice tone.

Here’s what I mean.

Early in our marriage my wife and I moved from Wisconsin to Missouri for a job promotion. After 4 years there we moved back to Wisconsin (our home state), actually moving back to our hometown after being gone from there for over 10 years.

With this came friendly encounters with old friends. In this case these encounters were at church, the grocery store, picking out a Christmas tree, etc. They weren’t planned—just a quick encounter. Perhaps 50% of the time I would hear the voice, take a good look at this person or acquaintance, and that sound and picture would help me realize who it was. It worked 100% of time!
